A Simple Life, My First Live Stream and An Event in 2025
Hi friends, I hope the beginning of the new year has been a smooth transition for you. I am using this fresh start to try new things and push myself a little towards my personal goals while also carefully editing the routines around me. I'm also using this time to reflect more, practice mindful meditation and move in the direction of a simpler life. I have, for quite some time, yearned for less in my schedule and less stress at home too. It's funny how as I've gotten older (51 on the 13th) I find myself desiring less material things and more value...
New Year, New Art & A New Series
My newest series, “Songs and Skies” has begun to emerge from my studio, and you can help participate in its development. I’m looking for help from my collectors and followers to inspire these new works painted from the collaboration of their favorite lyrics and my response to these songs. I’ve always felt a connection to music as I paint, and am never far from either when I’m working. Music helps me think, helps me form my imagery and gives me motivation to do what I love! My first painting in this series is from one of my favorite songs, “Southland...

There have been beautiful new experiences too, like welcoming a new grandson with my oldest daughter, and my son’s wedding (also welcoming a new daughter-in-law to the family). Professionally, I’ve had major ups and downs: I worked so diligently to earn my masters in...

Autumn, dusk, Fall, farm, Harvest Painting, hay, oil, oil painting, plein air -
October Congregation
Fall is here and with it brings a dazzling display of color! Golds, ambers, purples and garnets dot the woods where I live. I had been eyeing a peanut field across from my mailbox and driveway for over a month. The peanuts grew and were harvested leaving a dusty trail of leftover peanut vines. These the farmers rolled for hay, using big, noisy equipment that quickly deposited the rolls of hay bales across the field. I must have taken thirty or forty photos of the field and hay bales to ensure that the lighting was just right. The rows of...
