About the Artist

Jennifer Buckley McCall is a professional fine artist in Tifton, Georgia. She specializes in rural landscapes with an emphasis on her style of Romantic Realism.

Jennifer graduated from Wesleyan College in 1998 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Graphic Design and Painting. For the next twenty years, she worked as a graphic designer for organizations throughout the Southeast, but never forgot her need to express herself through painting. In February of 2018, she decided to pursue her artistic passions full-time and opened her studio.
Jennifer is an accomplished fine artist, able to teach a variety of media including watercolor, acrylic, oils, and pastels. She is often commissioned for portraits and landscapes in pastel and oil. Jennifer is a member of the American Impressionist Society, Oil Painters of America, and the National Oil & Acrylic Painters' Society.
Jennifer has been featured in publications throughout the Southeast such as Tifton Scene, and Southwest Georgia Living Magazine. She received a Colsen Calendar placement award at the Spring Into Art Exhibit for 2016 and 2025 in Valdosta, Georgia and Honorable Mention at The Southeastern Pastel Society 2017 Online Annual Show. She was awarded the 2022 Community Art Citizen Award for Kiwanis International.
Jennifer is an avid plein-air painter. She has been painting "en plein air" (outdoors and on location) for over twenty years. She also participates in plein air competitions. Most recently, she was selected as a participant artist for Georgia Color Plein Air, in Savannah, Georgia. Georgia Color, founded by Olmsted Arts, is a nationally recognized competition that features 30 top Plein air artists from across the state of Georgia who participate in a six-day competition in October, creating daily plein air paintings of the historic city. In 2023, she was attended her first Plein air competition at the Georgia Color PaintQuick, and was awarded second place in the community division.
Jennifer has won the grand prize at the Turner Center for the Arts ARTOber Plein Air Competition in Valdosta, Georgia in 2023 amd 2025. In 2025 she had the pleasure of being selected for the Quick Draw Exhibition at the Forgotten Coast Plein Air in Port St. Joe, Florida. In addition, Jennifer won First Place, People's Choice at the Moultrie Plein Air, and First Place Community Award at the Olmsted Plein Air PaintQuick in Atlanta, Georgia in April 2025.
When she's not competing or painting commissions, Jennifer teaches a variety of mediums to adults and children regionally.
The artist's newest works were featured at the Gallery of ABAC's Georgia Museum of Agriculture in a solo exhibition, "The Long Way Home," from January through May 2025, and at The Carnegie Center in Fitzgerald, Georgia from June through August 2025.
Jennifer will be teaching a Plein Air Basics class at the Georgia Museum of Agriculture on November 8, as well as demonstrating in Fitzgerald, Georgia on November 1st at a Just Plein Fun event at The Carnegie Center.
