The Grazers
Morning greets me with unexpected paintings on my route. The light is best then, foggy and golden with just touches of violet and pink. They were grazing in the pasture as I drove past. As I slowed down to take photos, one picked up her head as if to say, “Excuse me, you don’t belong here.” But soon she continued with her breakfast and I had only moments to snap before I had to be along. The trees were veiled and the dew was still on the grass. The sunlight was hitting the roof of the old barn and I wished I could stay instead to paint the scene from life.
But the grazers would have to wait before I could capture them with my brush; for me, time only stands still on the weekends.
