Old Pump in Springtime, 8" x 10" Oil on Canvas. Not long ago I had the pleasure of painting buried treasure for a client. Ok, maybe not the treasure that reality show treasure seekers hunt. Or pirates. But buried treasure like this is much more valuable. Relics from days gone by, like an old homeplace or antiques with special memories, that is the real treasure. This particular relic was an old water pump, long abandoned at the client's husband's homeplace. Semi-buried in a field overgrown with vines and wildflowers, it was an artist's dream to paint.
