A New Year’s Challenge – Thirty Paintings in Thirty Days
Last January I decided to tackle a big feat for me—painting one painting a day for 30 days. Was I successful? Yes—but I didn’t have 30 paintings at the end of January. I only had 20. Ten short? How was that successful? Well, I experimented with styles I don’t usually use, media I don’t usually handle and had the timeframe I usually give myself cut drastically by a fraction of what I usually have to complete a painting. It didn’t matter to me that I didn’t have 30 paintings in one month. What mattered to me is whether or not...
Treasures from Insomnia
I received a shipment of black Colourfix pastel paper that I'd been saving since June. I was originally going to use it on a portrait but decided it was too dark to use for that particular subject. "Best Friends"

As I began to sketch, I began to smile. It is very heartfelt thing when you can feel your soul pouring into your...
30 Day Challenge!
I'm challenging myself to 30 paintings in 30 days. It has been exceptionally challenging to say the least! Finding time to juggle painting with kids, husband and a full time job has had me a little crazy... I've continued but am a little behind. I'll post more paintings this weekend.
